- The ball is generally oval in shape. The reason for this dates back to the older times when the rugby balls made of leather casing were used. These were handmade and made from pig bladder. The natural shape of pig bladder is oval. That is why the rugby balls are oval shaped.
- Rugby is one such sport in which the same team has not won the World Cup consistently twice. Even though, repeat World Cup wins have happened but they have not happened consistently. That is why in each and every World Cup, the team who wins the Rugby World Cup is different.
- The highest governing body of the rugby sport is the International Rugby Board. It was formed in 1886. Overall, 97 countries are members of the International Rugby Board.
